One of the UK’s largest Brown Swiss pedigree herds. The Latham’s have been developing a pool of Swiss genetics since 1992, when they bought their first Swiss cattle, and Organsdale Farm from Alan Howarth. Over the years they have loved working with the Brown Swiss cattle but due to a change in farm policy they are now moving to a different breed and calving at a different time.
The Brown Swiss were their choice to find reasonably high yielding cows that could be managed easily on a grass, with good feet, great milk solids for their cheese making contract and a big frame that gives barren/cull cows real value, making these cattle the ideal choice over the years for their predominantly Autumn block calving system fed on a semi complete diet.
